4 Days Sirimon Down Sirimon

Depart Nairobi at 7.00 am to Nanyuki, which normally takes 4hrs drive, arriving Nanyuki at 10.30 then proceed to Mt Kenya National Park Sirimon gate, picnic lunch will be provided. After lunch, follow the track uphill for 9km,through the rain forest to reach Old Moses camp which is situated at 3,300m. The ascent from Sirimon gate to Old Moses is 690m. Dinner/overnight.

After breakfast, leave at 8.00 am, follow the direct route, until you reach the junction which which goes to Likki North after one hour, from here the track becomes a path, and swings right and south round the head of a large valley, crossing several small streams to reach the crest of the ridge between the Otulili and Liki North Valleys, then into Mackinders valley ,continue walking until you get to Shipton's camp 4250m. Dinner/overnight (it normally takes 6-7 hrs from Old Moses to Shiptons).

After breakfast, you will leave at 3.00 at night for Lenana summit. This section is a long, hard slog, and the path is indistinct in places. Continue walking across the scree, until you come across Square tarn. From here continue up the south face of Point Lenana reaching the summit at 6.30 am, after enjoying the views and taking pictures, descend down to Shipton's camp for breakfast, Continue walking down to Old Moses camp via Mackinders Valley. It will take 5 hours to reach the Moses camp 3,300m where you will have lunch, dinner/overnight.

After breakfast, leave at 8.00 am down to Sirimon gate, this is a nice walk through the equatorial rain forest. The walk normally takes 2hrs, then meet up with your transport back to Nairobi.
