Highlights of Uganda

Day 1: Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, proceed to clear with immigration and customs procedures. Thereafter you will be met by Advantage Holidays representative just outside the baggage claim area and transferred to your Entebbe Hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Kibale

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by your safari driver guide at the reception and drive  through Mubende and Kyanjojo with a  brief stop at Fort Portal for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch proceed through tea plantations to Kibale Forest arriving in late afternoon. Check in at your lodge and freshen up.

Later enjoy the Bigodi Swamp walk. You will come across the beautiful birds and butterflies that reside in this beautiful swamp. Return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Kibale National Park -Queen Elizabeth National Park

After early breakfast, check out and drive to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking.

You will come across other primate including: I’hoestes, red colobus, blues, red tailed and gray– cheeked mangabey among other wildlife. Later return to the lodge for lunch.

Check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth arriving late afternoon.

Proceed to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth with game drive enroute.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge..

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth

Today you will enjoy an early morning game drive in Kasenyi area.

The park  boasts to have one of  the highest bio diversity from the open Savannah, Rain Forest, dense Papyrus Swamps and brooding Crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.

It has over 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog plus remarkable 606 bird species that include the Black Chested Eagle, the Swallow-Tailed Bee Eaters and many more bird species with makes a birders paradise. Later return to the lodge for lunch followed with an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel (2 hours approx.), to look out for the hippos, great herds of buffaloes, and lots of water birdlife.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve

After breakfast, check out and with your packed lunches and  drive on a  dirt road cutting across the park heading to the Southern side of the park, Ishasha sector.

Enjoy game drives in the area which is well known for tree climbing lions, have your picnic lunch before you end out to Bwindi.

Later in the evening arrive at your lodge in Bwindi.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve

Today you will be heading out for an exciting gorilla tracking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest Reserve.

Bwindi is home to half of the world’s mountain gorilla population.  You will register at the gates and head into the reserve in search of the mountain gorillas. Once you get to a gorilla family you will enjoy the experience of coming close to these creatures in their natural habitat looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of the Gentle Giants. After this captivating and unforgettable experience, you will head back to your lodge to relax.

Day 7: Lake Mburo

After breakfast bid Bwindi good bye and drive to Lake Mburo with picnic lunch. You will drive through the beautiful scenery of Kigezi Mountains to Mbarara with stops for sight-seeing and enjoy your picnic lunch.

Drive to Lake Mburo and check in at your lodge.

Later in the afternoon head out for your first game drive Rock and enjoy the afternoon at leisure and later conduct an evening game drive.

Overnight at Rwakobo Rock or similar -LDB

Day 8: Jinja

Enjoy and early morning games drive in the park. Later have breakfast at the lodge then depart Lake Mburo for Jinja with your packed lunches, enjoy a brief stop at the Equator for pictures enroute and thereafter continue to drive via Kampala and Mabira forest arriving at Jinja in the late afternoon.

Check in at your hotel for diner and overnight.

Overnight at 2 Friends Jinja or similar -LBD

Day 9: Jinja – Entebbe International Airport.   

Breakfast at leisure thereafter enjoy Sightseeing in Jinja, visit the source of the Nile (– at an extra cost) then transfer to Wildwaters Lodge for Lunch. After lunch transfer back to Entebbe airport arriving in time to check into your outbound flight.

A late flight pout of Entebbe is recommended.

 KL 535 ETA 2350 hours.

  • Ugandan visas: single entry visa costs US$ 50 and it is required for all countries that require visas for Ugandans (principle of reciprocity). MUST BE APPLIED ONLINE PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.

Important notes;

Visas;

Ugandan visas are required by citizens of the European Union,USA and Japan; other nationals basically with the principle ofreciprocity. Entry visas can be applied online www.visas.immigration.go.ug or gotten on arrival, applicants must have a valid travel document not less than 6 months from the date of departure. A single entry visa costs US$ 50, and is valid for three months.

Travel requirements keep for various countries keep on changing. Always check with Advantage Holidays safari consultants at the time of booking.

NB- The EAC Tourist visa allows you to visit Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda within 90 days and costs US$ 100
